A Meeting of Titans
Posted on Tue May 1st, 2018 @ 6:54pm by Lieutenant Commander Anders Odegaard & 1st Lieutenant Ali'x'in "Alexander" Ch’Thorthaan IV
Mission:
New Ship, New Crew
Location: Executive Officer's Office
Timeline: Current
Alexander began to fix his uniform for the day, after yesterdays informal meeting with the Captain of the ship, he thought the next best thing for him to do was introduce himself the Executive Officer, and go over the his plan for implementing marines for secondary positions throughout each department so downtime was used to get accustomed to the Nebula Class.
Once he was finished, he grabbed his trust PADD that First Sergeant Greene had gone over with assignments from working closely with the enlisted Marines an headed for Deck One. Once in the turbo lift, he began a secondary review of each marine in the rotation.
==Executive Officer's Office==
Approaching the Number One's Office, he once again checked his uniform before chiming the door and standing at attention.
Odegaard was stood by his Bookshelf and was organising his new office when he heard the Chime. "Come in." He said turning to the door.
Alexander entered the room and stood at attention a few feet away from the XO's Desk. "First Lieutenant Ch'Thorthaan, Reporting in."
"At ease." Odegaard said as he moved towards his desk. "I'm Lieutenant Commander Odegaard, Ships Executive Officer." He then motioned for the Marine to take a seat. "Welcome to the Alabama."
Alexander nodded and moved to the chair, "Thank you, Sir." he responded as he sat down placing his PADD on his side of the desk. "I figured I should come meet you in a formal, after meeting the Captain in an informal manner yesterday."
Odegaard nodded. "Good idea." The XO placed his tea cup to the left of him and then sat up in a more formal manner. "Let's get down to business shall we?" He looked at the Andorian. "As Executive Officer I'm your first port of call for all issues and matters relating to the running of your Department, I am aware that the Marines operate a little differently to the standard Ships compliment."
Odegaard paused and sipped from his cup. "I also respect and admire the need for a blunt object when a surgical implement won't suffice."
"I see." Alexander nodded respectfully. "I understand you, Commander. I believe we will get along really well when we get underway. I do have work orders I am currently hashing out so the marines will have secondary billets aboard the ship when we aren't training. Just waiting for the rest of the Senior Staff to board and discuss with them."
Odegaard nodded. "Very good, having them versed in additional duties and Ship Protocol will be vital in the Delta Quadrant."
"Agreed. I'd also like to run hot every time we leave the safety of the port. Unlike being in the other quadrants, I think we should run both platoons kitted and ready to deploy instead of the fifty-fifty standard. One situated in the barracks, the other in the shuttle bay to the open side." he said sliding over his PADD. "This should be all that is needed, basically just a wall to be stacked up on and out of the way of the deck crew."
"That's a big ask." Odegaard commented. "I would say limit yourself to one for now until we are in a deep space assignment." The XO then pulled up a roster. "You'll be pleased to know that you're Fighters are being updated, all the information has been sent to your personal terminal."
"Understood Commander." he replied and nodded. "Good I'll get the pilots together and start getting them situated with the Deck Crew."
"Excellent." Odegaard said nodding in approval. "The Captain wants the Ship to be at least in partial working order for our shakedown, and it may be good to put those fighters through their paces."
"I will ensure, that they meet the requirements for deployment. If there isn't anything else, Commander? I'll see to the preparations."
"That will be everything Lieutenant." Odegaard commented to him. "Thank you."
With that final acknowledgement the pair went their final ways and carried on their duties.
