Getting Ready for a Cruise

Mission: Shakedown Cruise
Location: Observation Lounge
Timeline: 2 Hours Before Leaving Iota Station

Andreas had spent most of the morning preparing his notes for the shakedown cruise and figured he was as ready for the briefing as he'd ever be.

=/\= O'Shaunessy to all senior staff. Please report to the observation lounge. =/\= Once he closed the channel, he crossed bridge and entered the lounge to wait for the staff.

Alexander nodded to his First Sergeant to take over the last of the Marines to be situated in the Barracks. He headed off to the bridge, arriving second, after the Captain of the Ship. He entered the lounge and took a place standing out of the way of the table and seats, "Marine Commander Present, Sir."

"Welcome Lieutenant." Andreas said as he motioned to the middle of the table. "There's water in the pitcher. If you want anything else, the replicator is 3 metres to your right."

Odegaard was next to arrive. The XO made sure the Bridge was manned and then entered the Lounge. "Captain, Lieutenant." He then took his seat by the right hand side of the Captain.

T'vash entered the observation lounge, with a nod to those gathered. "Peace, and long life." She stated, to all of them.

Heavy thudding footsteps made their way down the corridor and then the door to the conference room slid open.

'Dave' entered the room, looked around a moment, and then in a 'just a little too loud' and 'overly enthusiastic' tone he announced. "Hi! I'm Dave."

Alexander nodded looking at the new attendee, "Welcome Lieutenant." he said as he moved towards an open seat.

Andreas nodded at each officer as they entered and took their seats. "Thank you all for coming. Most of you have already met, at least in passing over the last few days." Motioning towars Lt. Dave, he continued. "Lt. Dave just arrived a couple of hours ago. He'll be our CEO and will continue the work that Commander Odegaard and Lt. Collier have started."

Taking a sip of water, Andreas looked around the room. "I am happy to say that we've just received the go ahead to take the Alabama out on her shakedown cruise. We'll try to break her in slowly, but I also want us to be ready to do so quickly if need be."

Pulling up a map of the sectors they'd be passing through, Andreas got up and stood next to the display. "We'll be passing through the corridor of space that runs between Turei space and Vaadwaur space. We will then follow the perimeter of Turei space before coming back to Iota Station." Taking a sip of water, he looked over the faces of his senior staff.

"Our main objective is to take advantage of the Sensor Pod that we currently have installed on the Alabama and document any and all information that comes in."

"Most of the information we'll receive will be processed by astrometrics, so most of you will have time to continue getting your departments up to snuff." Taking another sip of his water, he turned his gaze to Lt. T'Vash.

"Doctor, as with any mission, I hope that you and your staff have the least amount of work to do. That being said, I want you to continue to organize your department and ensure the EMT program is fully functional. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact the QM or Lt. Dave in Engineering. If they can't get you what you need, talk to Commander Odegaard and he'll light a fire under the appropriate backside."

"The department is organized. I function at the pique of efficiency." T'vash replied. "We are mildly low on replicatable supplies, and there are a few bio-beds suffering curious issues, however the department, and it's staff, are prepared for emergency situations."

Andreas nodded. "Thank you, Doctor. I'm glad to hear it."

Turning to the Marine CO. "Lieutenant, as we pass through the corridor, I'd like to have your fighters aid in the information gathering. Please have your Gryphon Class fighters outfitted with extra sensor arrays. Each will have a Razor Class flying shotgun with them. One team will go just inside Turei space while the other goes into Vaadwaur space. Any questions?"

Alexander nodded, "Yes Sir. I will have the air wing up and available and ready to deploy as soon as we reach the corridor. I would like to have permission from Lieutenant Beck and yourself, to station second platoon spread across the ship in key areas while working with security. Though it's not standard and especially not on a shakedown, we are in the Delta Quadrant and I think it would best to be prepared for any and all issues that arise."

"Thank you, Lieutenant. I have no problem with your staff backing up Beck and his staff." Andreas said as he turned to Beck. "I think a pairing of Security and Marine's may be one way to go about it, but I will leave the logistics of it to the two of you to work out."

Turning to Lt. Dave, Andreas continued. "Lieutenant Dave, there are bound to be some hiccups that come up while we're out there. Please keep a running tally of repairs and adjustments that you and your staff have to do on the fly and forward your reports to Commander Odegaard. I'll leave it to you and the good Commander to decide on the frequency of those reports."

"Oh, you betcha. Engineering runs on lists and reports just as much as a spanner or warp coil. I make sure to write everything down at least twice."

Odegaard nodded. “I’m expecting reports from every department relating to what they need and what they want and I’ll be compiling a list based on availability and priorities.” The XO said with a nod.

Andreas nodded. "Thank you gentlemen. That's all the for me at this point. Are there any questions before we get under way?"

Looking around the room, Andreas nodded. "Since there aren't any questions, report to your stations, we leave dock in 2 hours." Once the senior staff headed out, he went to the bridge to oversee the last of the preparations.
